Te Vaka Wins Australian Songwriting Association Award

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

Thanks to World Music Central for the news that South Pacific Group Te Vaka has won the prestigious “International” category in the 28th Australian Songwriting Association Awards.

The winners of the 12 songwriting categories performed their winning songs to a sold out venue of top music industry personnel and Australian celebrities. Te Vaka‘s performance of “Tamahana” on the night also won the group the PPCA “Best live Performance of the night” Award presented by Mondo Rock Bass player Paul Christie.

Te Vaka have been favourites of ours (and world.beats) for some time.  Here’s Cal’s review of their album, Olatia.

Congratulations to a great group!
