Here’s just a brief round-up of what’s happening in the world of world music right now.

World fusion group Do’a is no more.  But the Wire has a story on the new boxed set of their undying music.

Fave group Solas is playing Washington DC as part of the Planet Arlington World Music Festival.  Their newest album, For Love and Laughter, was recorded with some help from The Duhks.  (psst, the Duhks are part of this week’s Celt in a Twist program).

Celts can also get their music fix at the Scottish Highland Gathering & Games in Pleasanton, California.  It’s presented by the Caledonian Club of San Francisco.

And the Garifuna Women’s Project will be honoring the late Andy Palacio in LA.
